“Run to Change Lives”! Come out and Trot, Stroll, Run, or Walk and join Castle Rock’s Thanksgiving morning tradition with the 13th Annual Turkey ROCK Trot presented by Castle Rock Adventist Hospital.

You and the Turkey ROCK Trot are changing lives by “Giving Back to the Community”. All of the proceeds from registrations and sponsorships are given to the Douglas Elbert Task Force, meeting the immediate needs of residents of Douglas and Elbert counties who are in financial distress and/or at risk of becoming homeless. Whether you are a serious runner or leisurely walker, bring the whole family, start a new tradition and join the fun.

Our Expo opens at 8:00AM Thanksgiving morning inside the Douglas County Events Center with over 30 vendors, free Flippin’ Flapjacks, coffee, limited giveaways, bounce house, face painting for the kiddos and more!

RACE ROUTE

The Turkey ROCK Trot route incorporates the streets of DOWNTOWN Castle Rock.

The Turkey ROCK Trot is shutting down streets in Castle Rock on Thanksgiving morning from 8AM – 11AM.
Best options to arrive:
– Take I-25 to Plum Creek Pkwy to DC Events Center, or
– Take Gilbert St. to Plum Creek Pkwy to DC Events Center, or
– Take North Ridge Rd. to Plum Creek Pkwy to DC Events Center

9:15AM – Wave corrals open and pre-race festivities begin
9:30AM – First wave starts (each additional wave will start approximately every 2 minutes)

WAVE CORRALS

In an effort to promote safety, the Turkey ROCK Trot will be using an assigned wave system for the start. If you wish to run or walk with others at the event, select the wave of your slowest person for all registrants. Note: You may move to a slower wave than assigned, but you cannot move to a faster wave than assigned. Remember your time does not start until you cross the timing mats.

  • Wave #1 – This wave is for anyone planning to RUN at a 8 minute per mile pace or faster.
  • Wave #2 – This wave is for anyone planning to RUN at a 8-10 minute per mile pace.
  • Wave #3 – This wave is for anyone planning to RUN at a 10-12 minute per mile pace.
  • Wave #4 – This wave is for anyone planning to RUN slower than a 12 minute per mile pace.
  • Wave #5 – This wave is for ALL leisurely walkers with strollers and dogs. Yes, and you too “night before Thanksgiving” partiers.

The number of waves are at the events discretion for safety and enjoyment of all participants and may change as needed.

PARKING

Parking is FREE at the DC Event Center parking lot. Get there early and carpool if possible. Instead of food, THIS YEAR we ask that you bring a bag of toiletry items such as toothpaste, soap, deodorant, toilet paper, etc. to stock the Douglas/Elbert Task Force. Let’s go big on this and bring in several thousand lbs!

WEATHER AND LIABILITY

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat will keep us from hosting the Turkey Rock Trot. Keep in mind the route may not be cleared in the event of concerning Colorado weather conditions. Please plan accordingly. We assume no liability for injuries.

 

REFUND POLICY

No refunds given. If you are unable to attend your registration constitutes a tax-deductible donation to the Douglas/Elbert Task Force.
